The images presented were taken in the 1990's. Taken as prints, there is degradation when going from print to digital images.  Also, where we were traveling sometimes delayed processing for weeks or months and humidity played havoc with the undeveloped film. Still, I wanted to share our experiences through the pictures we took.

Anchoring in Southwest Norway

Early October 1997.   We enjoyed the late summer weather.  It was unusual and we took advantage of it.  We found it wonderful that we had most places to ourselves, but it did rain--a lot!  On a few occasions we ran into local sailors out for a weekend cruse.  They were taking advantage of the great, late summer weather as well.

Tied in the small harbor of Kvalvaag on the island of Stolmen about 30 miles south of Bergen. Marc-0-Polo came in with Karl and Astri and their friends aboard. They had a bunch of crabs that they needed to eat. So they invited us to join them. Bijou is nested in the middle.

"Don't give in to the rain." Sage advice from Karl. If we stopped doing things because of rain, we wouldn't do anything. So despite the rain, we had a wonderful crab feast. Karl is in the orange foul weather gear with the yellow hat. His wife Astri next to him, then my Carl, then their two friends.

Utstein Cloister Monestary. Interesting place and again, we were alone.

Our quay at the Ustein Cloister Monastery looking out at the water. It was a great place to be. The dock was solid and very comfortable.

Swans were everywhere. It was fun watching and because they were unusual to us, we spent plenty of time just watching them.
