The images presented were taken in the 1990's. Taken as prints, there is degradation when going from print to digital images.  Also, where we were traveling sometimes delayed processing for weeks or months and humidity played havoc with the undeveloped film. Still, I wanted to share our experiences through the pictures we took.

Mexico's Mainland

December 1989.  San Blas is noted for three things that circulated through the cruising community.  One was it's fort, located at the top of the hill and central to the community through history.  We took a morning and just walked through the ruins. Another was the Jungle Cruise.  We went with Tom and Rosie off Rose in their inflatable dinghy.  A winding creek lead us through mangroves and at the creek's source was a fresh water pond.  With docks and dense vegetation, it's a great way to cool off after a hot trip up.  Common in the area are alligators!!  We did see a small one sunny itself on a rock near the dock.  Another well-known feature of San Blas--mosquitoes!!!!  Hardy and tenacious even the best repellent couldn't keep them at bay.  San Blas was worth the stop but an ample supply of Deet would have made it even better.

A ponga making its way up the river. We came with Rosie and Tom in their dinghy. It was a great fun day.

At the source of the river is a dock and rest area. The water is fresh and cool, but watch for alligators!
