Bijou docked in Stavanger--the only boat.

October 1997.  Because of the unseasonably warm weather we usually had docks to ourselves, especially during the week.  It was a bummer, though, that since it wasn't normal cruising season, most amenities for cruisers were closed.  We ran into this most places we went. 

Another dock in another part of Stavanger. We loved the amount of space we had, but it was difficult getting "boat" stuff done when the amenities were closed.

Ognahamm. This is a typical public dock. They are free but must be horrible in summer when boats side-tie many deep. We wouldn't like that at all, so we were lucky to hit this coast when we did. No amenities, but we were stocked up enough that we were good. Moments before this picture was taken, Carl stepped on our tiller and broke it. Double Bummer!!

Typical boat stop. The amenities at these places usually consisted of fuel, store, laundry, restaurant, and showers. Whoopee, this one was open and we were so glad.
