The images presented were taken in the 1990's. Taken as prints, there is degradation when going from print to digital images.  Also, where we were traveling sometimes delayed processing for weeks or months and humidity played havoc with the undeveloped film. Still, I wanted to share our experiences through the pictures we took.

Winter in Port Annapolis marina  1992-1994

3/21/2022

Annapolis is right on a weather line.  Sometimes when we were above the line, we got snow, below the line and we got ice or rain, depending on the temperature.  When we got snow, we got out the camera and snapped pictures.  We'd been in the tropics for over three years and had LOTS of pictures of sandy beaches and palm trees.  Snow and ice were a novelty and we wanted to remember these times.  Port Annapolis Marina was set in among lots of trees, so when snow fell, it was magical.  Sometimes when we didn't quite make the line and it rained and then turned cold, everything was coated in ice, it looked like a fantasyland.

Looking out at the docks and boats. The Gazebo is on the left. In summertime, we sometimes took our meals up to the Gazebo to enjoy the view.

Another view of the Gazebo. On the left, one of the boat carts that we all used to transport groceries and other things to and from our cars and boats. Very handy.

Above.  The winter that parts of the Chesapeake froze was a rare event and made the local news.  It was  something people spoke about for days.          Right.  The flowing water in the center of Back Creek did not freeze.  This allowed some work boats to get in and out.  Bijou, however, stayed put all winter.
