The images presented were taken in the 1990's. Taken as prints, there is degradation when going from print to digital images. Also, where we were traveling sometimes delayed processing for weeks or months and humidity played havoc with the undeveloped film. Still, I wanted to share our experiences through the pictures we took.
July/August 1996. As July moved into August, we continued exploring the islands off Maine. They are a great cruising ground, even if a little challenging due to currents and weather patterns. We discovered several favorite places. One of them was Mt. Desert Island. We anchored in many bays and explored many of the small towns and villages. It was a wonderful island to spend time. July and August 1994. The Islands off the coast of Maine were far better than we imagined. Beautiful, sometimes remote, sometimes busy with summer tourists, but always interesting and beautiful. We felt the only way to really appreciate them was to do it by boat. We felt very fortunate. Regina and Merle Beal from Beals Island, Maine, come from a long established and prominent lobster fishing family. We admired each other's boats and had a couple of wonderful conversations. That's what can happen when anchored out in remote places. Not only were they interesting, they were very nice people. |
